We believe that great ideas emerge when diverse minds converge in spaces designed for both collaboration and deep focus. Since 2018, we've been creating environments where innovation thrives.
Our Story
Abstrakt was born from a simple observation: traditional offices were failing the modern workforce. Freelancers worked in isolation, startups struggled in cramped apartments, and remote workers yearned for community. We saw an opportunity to create something different—spaces that combine the energy of a startup with the professionalism of a corporate environment.
Our founder, Maria Chen, experienced this firsthand while building her first company. Working from coffee shops and home offices, she felt disconnected from the entrepreneurial ecosystem that had once fueled her creativity. When she finally found a coworking space, it felt sterile and transactional—a place to rent a desk, nothing more.
That experience planted the seed for Abstrakt. Maria envisioned a different kind of workspace: one built around community rather than square footage, where serendipitous encounters lead to lasting partnerships, and where the space itself inspires better work.
"The best ideas don't happen in isolation. They emerge from conversations, collisions, and the creative friction that only comes from being around other ambitious people."
— Maria Chen, Founder & CEO
What We Believe
At Abstrakt, we operate on a set of core principles that guide everything from our space design to our community events. We believe that environment shapes behavior—that thoughtfully designed spaces can elevate the quality of work produced within them. We believe that community creates opportunity—that the connections made over morning coffee can transform careers and businesses.
Most importantly, we believe that flexibility is the future. The rigid structures of traditional employment are giving way to more fluid, project-based work. Our spaces are designed to accommodate this shift, offering everything from hot desks for the occasional visitor to dedicated offices for growing teams.
Our Impact
Since opening our first location in 2018, Abstrakt has grown into a network of five spaces across three cities. But we measure our success not in square meters or membership numbers, but in the outcomes our community achieves.
Our members have collectively raised over $50 million in funding. More than 200 startups have launched from our spaces. Countless partnerships, friendships, and even a few marriages have formed within our walls. These numbers represent real people whose lives have been changed by the connections they made at Abstrakt.
"Joining Abstrakt wasn't just a real estate decision—it was a strategic one. The introductions I've made here have directly contributed to three of our biggest client relationships."
— David Park, Founder of Clearview Analytics
Looking Forward
As we expand to new cities and welcome new members, our mission remains unchanged: to create spaces where ambitious people can do their best work, together. We're investing in new amenities, expanding our events programming, and building tools that help our members connect more meaningfully.
The future of work is being written right now, and we're proud to be part of that story. Whether you're a solo founder with a big idea, a remote team seeking connection, or an enterprise looking for flexible solutions, there's a place for you at Abstrakt.
We invite you to visit one of our spaces and experience the Abstrakt difference for yourself. Book a tour, drop in for a day pass, or simply stop by for a coffee. The next great idea might be waiting for you here.
